As of February 2nd we have three sea grapes in stock. One 3 gallon and two 7 gallon. The sea grape (Coccoloba uvifera) is a unique and versatile coastal plant native to tropical regions of the Americas. It's known for its large, round, leathery leaves that start bronze-reddish and mature to a vibrant green, often turning red again before falling. The sea grape produces clusters of green fruit that ripen to a reddish-purple, resembling grapes, hence its name. These fruits can be used to make jams, jellies, and even wine, though they are not considered very flavorful when eaten raw. Sea grapes are highly tolerant of salt spray, wind, and poor soil conditions, making them ideal for stabilizing shorelines and providing a beautiful, low-maintenance landscape feature in coastal areas.
